Trash Hack Privacy Policy

Trash Hack is a campaign coordinated the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) Section of Education for Sustainable Development. This privacy policy will explain how our organization uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our website.

UNESCO collects the following data:

You directly provide UNESCO with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Voluntarily register for Trash Hack Newsletter
  • Voluntarily contact us feedback via email.
  • Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.

UNESCO collects your data so that we can:

  • Email you with updates from the Trash Hack campaign.
  • Email you news or campaigns related to Education for Sustainable Development.

How do we store your data?

UNESCO securely stores your data at 7, place de Fontenoy, Paris, 75007.  Your contact details, if voluntarily provided, will be stored within a secure mailing list.

If voluntarily provided to UNESCO, UNESCO will keep your contact details for two years. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by removing it from the mailing list, if you choose not to opt-in to continue receiving communication.

What are your data protection rights?
